Flash Infrared Annealing for Perovskite Solar Cell Processing

Organic–inorganic perovskites have an impressive potential for the design of next generation solar cells and are currently considered upscaling commercialization. Currently, perovskite rely on spin-coating which is neither practical large areas nor environmentally friendly. Indeed, one conventional most effective lab-scale methods to induce crystallization, antisolvent method, requires amount toxic solvent that difficult apply larger surfaces. To solve this problem, antisolvent-free rapid thermal annealing process called flash infrared (FIRA) can be used produce highly crystalline films. The FIRA oven composed array near-infrared halogen lamps with illumination power 3,000 kW/m2. A hollow aluminum body enables water-cooling system. method allows synthesis films in less than 2 s, achieving efficiencies >20%. has a unique industry because it adapted continuous processing, antisolvent-free, does not require lengthy, hour-long steps.
